I was just about to wrap it up for the night when I notice the moon haloed behind some clouds and just in front of a broken tree. Made a great shot.

Via Flickr:Yeah finally a success. I managed to get the right high-key product shot look. Still not sure I’m doing it right I had to really step down the shutter speed to ensure a white background. I think I need to spend a little more time thinking about this.

Classic camera gear shot – I was not able to get this looking the way I wanted. I kept picking up shadows from one of the lights. Not sure if it was positioned wrong or I just need to balance the power better.

Again I was struggling with getting the white balance right with this one. It seems like the colors of the gun keep tricking the sensor and I’d wind up with way to warm results. Fixed in post but still…

More reflective surface and sharp edges – I was starting to have some difficulty putting enough light on the subject to get that ‘high key look’ Maybe its time for new flashbulbs?

Trying to light a highly reflective surface. The chrome didn’t present a terrible problem to light they fact that it picked up and hint of color from the lights was.

Via Flickr:It was tough to get back to ‘regular’ photography after such a great week in Jasper but I managed to slog through it. I was working with studio lights all week. Trying different lighting angles, subject textures, etc.Got started with my daughter’s latest addition to her collection of ‘stuffys’.

Wow – the bears were out in force this year. Shannon spotted this guy on HYW 93A on our way back from Athabasca falls. Once again we were lucky enough to be the only ones there for quite a while. He started out on a ridge but eventually wandered down to the roadside and crossed right in front of the car.
